Banning Capps - 1975-2000

Banning Capps is the grom who brought me back closer to God. Banning used to invite me to his house for the weekly bible studies, and would always talk to me before and after his surf sessions, about what was "up!" In my years of doing magazine editorial work, I had interviewed Banning numerous times about his life, his injuries, as if they were all about being a "message" to others. Banning's life is a "message" to ALL. As life is a gift. Life is prescious, life is grand. But moreover, life is just the beginning.... And as much as you and I can't fathom what else there is "out" there, Banning Capps is with our Creator, living the life that you and I were born onto... Eternity with God! If it wasn't for Banning, I would have never given a serious second thought to religion, to what is "right" and what is wrong with this world. And for how much of a loss we all have endured with Banning's passing, the message is clear in my mind... Sure, I lost a friend, but I also gained an Angel. We ALL have... Cause for anyone who knew Banning, he was interested in all of our lives, helping all of us, one at a time. Caring enough to stop his life to help each of us through a tough time, a distance from God, etc....

 

Banning, you are with God. And may God bless you, and your soul.
