"Keppler and I go way back. Actually back to when I was 13. I was the new kid from the Big Island trying to compete with these rippers, (Moody, Novak, Jones, Patachia, Chapman) and I aint gona lie I was intimidated. But Keppler was always around shooting these guys. So one day he flagged me down before I paddled out and told he got some good shots of me and wants to get more! That alone gave me some confidence knowing he was always shooting the top up and comers and now he wanted to work with me. So I went from being intimated from these guys to becoming best friends with um in no time because we were always surfing together. Then I got a lil older, all the while Kepp got me couple shots, a couple ads, I started really wanting to be good out at Pipe. Kepp saw me getting couple good waves and pretty much sat me down saying look this is what u gotta do. Be a Pipe guy. That was when I was about 16 and I've been working on it ever since. I had a good 8 years as a pro "Pipe specialist" but still to this day I am always striving to get one of the waves of the day everytime Pipe breaks. Although now I am not a pro surfer out there but a Lifeguard. So even though I still surf it all the time I'm definitely trying to watch out for everyone best I can."
